Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys?
The ones who are worried about going back to normal because in hindsight it doesn't seem so normal, my monkeys
The ones who are being furloughed and let go, my monkeys
The ones who are worried about someone's health, my monkeys
The ones who are grieving someone's last breath, my monkeys
The ones who are needing to feel free and roam around, my monkeys
The ones who like catching their breath and allowing the planet to breathe, my monkeys
The ones who are working long days and can't find time to go to the grocery store, my monkeys
The ones working at the grocery store, my monkeys
The ones who make tough calls and follow protocols, my monkeys
The ones who worry about all the things nearly all the time, my monkeys
The ones don't know what to think, my monkeys
The ones who are isolated, my monkeys
The ones who feel aggravated, my monkeys
The ones who celebrated something differently this year, my monkeys
The ones who find joy in the little things, my monkeys
The ones who send up tear stained prayers, my monkeys
The ones who breath a deep sigh of relief, my monkeys
The ones who think of others, my monkeys
The ones who get swallowed up by fear, my monkeys
The ones who lose their stuff, my monkeys
The ones who give away their stuff, my monkeys
The ones who face another uncertain day, my monkeys
The ones who have big opinions, my monkeys
The ones who quietly contemplate, my monkeys
It's a complicated circus out there, be kind to yourself and to others.
